ستريدا جعجع في اليوم العالمي للمرأة..
صدر عن النائب ستريدا جعجع البيان الآتي:
إن المرأة فريدة من نوعها، فهي يمكنها أن تلعب دور الأم والزوجة والعاملة في آن معاً معطيّة كل دور من هذه الأدوار كامل حقّه المطلوب، لذا في هذا اليوم، اليوم العالمي للمرأة، أقول لها اعملي وتقدمي واجتهدي لأنه لن يتمكن أحد من اعتراض سبيلك ففي النهاية لن يصحّ إلا الصحيح.
كما أوجّه التحيّة لأمي كما كل النساء اللواتي أتواصل وأعمل معهن من أجل إعلاء شأن المرأة في لبنان وإعطاء أفضل صورة ممكنة لنموذج “الجمهوريّة القويّة”، فأنا محاطة بكوكبة من النساء اللواتي يعملن في المجالات كافة ولهن اليوم أوجّه ألف تحيّة وتحيّة.
وأود أيضاً، أن أخص بالتحيّة المرأة اللبنانيّة العاملة التي تناضل وتكافح في ظل هذه الظروف العصيبة التي تمر بها البلاد جراء الأزمة الاقتصاديّة الماليّة النقدية المستفحلة من أجل أن تعمل لتساعد في تأمين لقمة العيش لعائلتها، خصوصاً من بينهن النساء اللواتي يلعبن دور مقدّم الرعاية الرئيسي لعائلاتهن.
كما لا يمكنني في يوم المرأة العالمي إلا وأن أحيي جميع النساء العاملات في الجهاز الطبي والتمريضي في لبنان اللواتي كنّ يواجهن في الخط الأمامي واللواتي أظهرن استبسالاً وشجاعةً كبيرة والتزاماً في حربنا ضد وباء “كورونا”، كما لا يمكننا أن ننسى أمهات وزوجات وشقيقات وبنات الشهداء كل الشهداء على مساحة الوطن، وخصوصاً شهداء انفجار مرفأ بيروت اللواتي لسبب أو لآخر يعانين كثيراً جراء هذه الخسارة على الصعيد الحياتي العادي.
أما بالنسبة لحقوق المرأة اللبنانية فِي الممارسة اليومية فالمرأة اللبنانية تعاني من كل الضغوط التي تشتدّ على الشعب اللبناني ككلّ، ولكن الضغط عليها أشدّ لسببين:
الاول لأنها اصبحت على تماس مع الفقر المدقع، الامر الذي يدفع كل النساء في لبنان الى البحث عن العمل في الوقت الذي تتناقص فيه فرص العمل بشكل دراماتيكي.
والثاني هو زيادة حالات العنف الاسري بفعل الضغوطات المعيشية والصحية، وهو ما دفع عدد من النواب الى تقديم اقتراح قانون لتعديل قانون حماية الاسرة منهم الرفيق ادي ابي اللمع وقد اقرّ مؤخراً ونأمل ان يساهم في تخفيف حالات العنف الاسري التي اصبحت مقلقة.
وعلى المستوى التشريعي، الوضع ليس افضل من الممارسة اليومية، فلا يزال المشوار طويل جداً. فلا تزال التعديلات العديدة على قوانين العمل والعقوبات والاحوال الشخصية تصارع في اللجان النيابية من اجل اقرارها. كما ان تقارير cidaw لا تزال تشير الى تأخر لبنان عن الالتزام الكلي بأحكام الاتفاقية الدولية لمكافحة كل اشكال التمييز ضد المرأة. وهذا التغيير لا يمكن أن يحصل إلا عبر قوانين انتخابيّة أكثر عدالة وأقلّ تحيّزاً وإحدى الوسائل الأساسيّة لتطبيق هذا الأمر هو الكوتا النسائيّة التي يعتبر تطبيقها أحد وسائل تغيير قواعد اللعبة السياسيّة.
وأريد أن أغتنم الفرصة اليوم لأوجّه تحيّة للمرأة العربيّة الشجاعة، البطلة، المقدامة، القويّة، المثابرة والطموحة، التي تعيش اليوم وضعاً صعباً جراء الأزمة الاقتصادية الماليّة التي تضرب العالم بعد تفشي وباء “كورونا”، هذه المرأة التي اثبتت وجودها وجدارتها وتقدّمها في الميادين كافة.
Today, we are celebrating the strongest individual created by god. We are celebrating the mother, the sister, the children. We are celebrating the pearl without whom life doesn’t exist. Woman’s multitask capabilities are infinite, from mother, to father sometimes, to worker, giving each of these roles the full right required. So, on International Women’s Day I would like to thank her, and to ask her to be who she is. Be the feminist, who progress and strive because no one will be able to block your path. Be the cause of destruction of this patriarchal society and be the pillar of woman rights and gender equality!
Today, I salute my mother as well as all the women I communicate and work within order to promote the status of women in Lebanon and give the best possible picture of the “strong republic” model. I am surrounded by a constellation of women who work in all fields and to whom today I send thousand greetings.
Special sought are addressed to Lebanese working women who are struggling in these difficult circumstances that the country is undergoing, due to the severe monetary and financial crisis, to ensure and secure a livelihood for their families, especially among them women who play the role of the main caregiver for their households.
In this very special day, International Women’s Day, I can only salute all the women working in the medical and nursing apparatus in Lebanon who were facing on the front line and who showed great courage, courage and commitment in our fight against the Corona (Covid-19) pandemic, just as we cannot forget all the mothers, wives, sisters and daughters of the martyrs, all of our martyrs, and especially the ones who lost their lives due to the Beirut Port explosion. These women suffering every day, seeing how hard it is to get justice for their loved one with the current corrupt and failed government.
Also, it is essential today to pinpoint the daily struggle of Lebanese woman to be able to create a change. Lebanese woman in fact, suffers from all the pressures that that Lebanese people are feeling as a whole, but the pressure on them is greater for two main reasons:
The first one is because it has come into contact with extreme poverty, which pushes all women in Lebanon to search for work at a time when job opportunities are drastically decreasing.
The second is the increase in domestic violence cases due to living and health pressures, which pushed a number of MPs to submit a law proposal to amend the Family Protection Law, including Comrade Edi Abi Al-Lama, which was recently approved, and we hope that it will contribute alleviating the cases of domestic violence that have become a troubling.
At the legislative level, the situation is not better than daily practice. A long path is still to be crossed. Numerous amendments to labor laws, penalties, and personal status are still struggling in the parliamentary committees to be approved. Also, CIDAW reports still indicate that Lebanon lags in its total commitment to the provisions of the International Convention to Combat All Forms of Gender based discrimination. This change can only take place through fairer and less based electoral laws, and one of the main means of implementing this matter is the women’s quota, whose implementation is considered one of the means of changing the rules of the political chart.
Last but not least, I want to take advantage of this opportunity today to salute the courageous, heroic, strong, persevering and ambitious Arab women who live today in a difficult situation as a result of the financial economic crisis that strikes the world after the outbreak of the Corona epidemic, this women who has proven their presence, worth and advancement in all fields.
